Sixth annual Beaver Creek Cookie Contest: The top five recipes will be selected to compete for bragging rights as Beaver Creek’s official Cookie Time recipe. Submissions for the Cookie Contest will be accepted from Oct. 26-28, 2009.
Beaver Creek, Colo., Sept. 25, 2009—It’s time to locate Grandma’s secret chocolate chip cookie recipe for the sixth annual Beaver Creek Cookie Contest, where the top five recipes will be selected to compete for bragging rights as Beaver Creek’s official Cookie Time recipe. Submissions for the Cookie Contest will be accepted from Oct. 26-28, 2009. The official Cookie Competition takes place promptly at 2 p.m. on Beaver Creek’s opening day Wednesday, Nov. 25 and guests are reminded to arrive early because the cookies are consumed quickly.
Anyone is eligible to bake and submit 12 cookie samples with an original chocolate chip cookie recipe. Cookies must be no more than four inches in diameter and will be judged using the following criteria: Taste (50%); Appearance (20%); Texture (10%); and Reproducible Recipe (20%). Cookies contest entrants will be pre-judged and five finalists will be selected to compete during the opening day competition on Nov. 25 where 5,000 warm chocolate chip cookies will be served to skiers and snowboarders. Finalists must be able to attend the competition.
Resort guests can cast a vote for their favorite homemade chocolate chip cookie during the sixth annual competition finals. The winning cookie will become the resort’s signature cookie and the winner also will receive a $1,000 Beaver Creek VISA Gift Card. Prizes also will be offered for second through fifth place.
All cookie entries must be received by mail or in-person by noon on Oct. 28.Cookies may be shipped overnight via UPS or FedEx or delivered in person to the Beaver Creek Resort Company office between Oct. 26 and Oct. 28, 2009 (9am-5pm).
