’s popular running series offers winter enthusiasts an opportunity to participate in a series of snowshoe races on beautiful Beaver Creek Mountain. The Snowshoe series consists of three races beginning on Jan. 6, 2013 at Creekside Park. The second race on Feb. 3, 2013 also starts from Creekside Park and these first two races will wind their way through various sections of the mountain. The third and final race takes place March 3, 2013 and kicks off up at Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park Nordic Center in Strawberry Park at the top of Chairlift #12. This event is intended for showshoers of all levels including professionals, kids and everyone in between. Participants can sign up for the 10 kilometer, the East West Resorts 5K Quest or a kid’s one kilometer distance race. To register, visit www.beavercreek.com

Each race begins at 11 a.m. and will feature a slope-side sponsor expo and a post-event party will be held for all participants to enjoy a variety of giveaways and a post-race meal provided by the Dusty Boot Steakhouse and Saloon. Limited free demo and rental snowshoes are available at the races as long as supplies last. These snowshoe races are made possible by Beaver Creek Resort, the Beaver Creek Resort Company, Nature Valley, Atlas Snowshoes , East West Resorts, The Dusty Boot and the Metropolitan.
This series has evolved over the last 15 years to become one of the largest and longest running snowshoe races in the country. This season, the Feb. 3 race will act as a regional qualifier for the United States Snowshoe Association championships. and have their time from this race used to gain entry into the National Championships in Bend, OR from March 15 through 17, 2013.
