White Carpet Snow.  Snowmaking Refresh Project Expands for Winter 2015-2016
Beaver Creek’s unrivaled commitment to providing a world-class snow surface for skiers and snowboarders will further expand this season.  Introduced on Gold Dust intermediate trail during 2014-2015, the snowmaking refresh project avails the world’s most luxurious snow conditions to guests with opulent, perfect snow frequently throughout the heart of the ski season – for which a new, fresh layer of snow is dusted atop the Gold Medal-groomed trails. In addition to Gold Dust, which is equipped with 24 fully-automated fan guns, an additional 23 fully-automated fan guns will equip Red Tail and Centennial trails.  Three mobile carriage fan guns will also be added to enhance the snowmaking refresh fleet. Located at the top of Strawberry Park Express and Upper Beaver Creek Mountain Express lifts, the Cabin’s vintage candy store design of yesteryear invites kids and kids-at-heart to explore myriad palate-pleasing sweets – and to discover artisan craft chocolates found nowhere but the Candy Cabin. A Weekend of Culinary Excellence, Wine and Celebration at Beaver Creek
The essence of Beaver Creek’s renown for culinary excellence will take center stage Jan. 21-24, 2016, featuring a four-day winter culinary celebration on the slopes. In 2015 chefs and mixologists David Gutowski, Tim Love, Adam Roth, Jason Patz, Alex Seidel, David Walford, Matt McCallister, Tim McCaw, Nicholas Elmi,  along with acclaimed local host chefs, produced a palate-pleasing wine and culinary extravaganza. Talons Restaurant
Recently named as one of Travel & Leisure’s “America’s Best Ski Resort Restaurants”, Talons Restaurant offers a European-inspired gourmet menu featuring favorites such as the Schinkenstrulle (Black Forest Ham, Swiss cheese, fried egg, tomato, garlic aioli and sourdough), Colorado Lamb Burger and tossed to order salads, Aged Dunkel-Cheddar and other homemade soups and more, enjoyed in an upscale cafeteria setting. The Brink, named after a part of the men’s Birds of Prey downhill course, is an indoor- outdoor bar area offering signature cocktails and other libations. The expansive outdoor deck offers a great spot to refuel with bison burgers, brats and more. Originally constructed in 1997 as Red Tail Camp, Talons serves as the press center for the annual Men’s Birds of Prey World Cup held each December and it will be the on-mountain press center for the 2015 FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in February.

2015 Audi Birds of Prey Men’s World Cup
Slated for Dec. 4-6, 2015, the world’s fastest men again descend on Beaver Creek for the annual Audi Birds of Prey Men’s World Cup Weekend.  Hosting Downhill, Super-G and Giant Slalom competitions, Birds of Prey will set the stage for not only the World Championships, but the entire 2015-16 World Cup campaign.  2015 Birds of Prey champion Ted Ligety looks to claim his sixth consecutive Beaver Creek Giant Slalom victories, while Austria’s Hannes Reichelt returns for another Super-G win.  Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud will return in hopes of another gold for the Downhill.   Teammates and Sochi Olympic medalists Bode Miller and Andrew Weibrecht, along with the world’s best skiers, seek to tame Birds of Prey and become early favorites for World Championships hardware.  The Birds of Prey Downhill will get things started on Dec. 5, with Super-G on tap for Dec. 6 and Giant Slalom bringing down the curtain on Dec. 7. World Cup weekend at Beaver Creek also means plenty of world class village entertainment following the conclusion of racing action each day.

Beaver Creek’s Ivy League Ski and Snowboard School Introduces Terrain-Based Learning for Beginners
Recognized as the Ivy League of Ski Schools for its uncompromised commitment to world-class ski and snowboard instruction, the Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School will introduce Terrain Based Learning to beginners this season.  “The concept behind Beaver Creek’s terrain-based learning features is to provide a seamless, natural transition while developing confidence and skills,” said Fred Rumford, director of ski school for Beaver Creek.  “Both skiers and riders will be able to learn on gentle, beginner terrain that includes subtly-sculpted snow features which help to guide them into the correct technique.  The added snow features help to control speed and body position, which helps guests to relax, have fun and focus on a specific task; and each specific feature helps skiers and riders learn specific techniques.  Once the feeling of good technique is recognizable, progression happens naturally and much more quickly.”  Guests are invited to experience the new Terrain-Based Learning through the Beaver Creek Children’s and Adult Ski & Snowboard Schools; the features will be accessible via the instruction-dedicated Buckaroo Express Gondola.   

Elevated Ski School Private Lesson Experience Continues
Beaver Creek Ski School offers an elevated private lesson experience which includes express chairlift access through an exclusive, specially designated lane at designated lifts (which bypasses the traditional ski school lane), ski valet service and access to an exclusive on-mountain fine dining lunch at SaddleRidge.  In addition to the customized day offered by the school’s top pros in a private lesson, the elevated lesson blends Beaver Creek’s legendary guest service with its Ivy League Ski School experience.

13th Annual Talons Challenge
For the 13th year, the Talons Challenge will showcase the best steeps, mogul runs and expert terrain the mountain has to offer.  Participants test their mettle and tackle 26,000 vertical in one day across 14 runs including Golden Eagle trail, home of the legendary Birds of Prey World Cup and 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, Grouse Mountain, and on the flanks of Larkspur Bowl.  Slated for Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, competitors will try to earn a spot on the digital wall of fame at Talons Restaurant.

Women’s Social Tour
The Beaver Creek Women’s Social Tour lends a casual environment for women to enjoy themselves on the slopes with other like-minded women.  Guests enjoy a fun, relaxing atmosphere while building skill and confidence; the two-hour ski begins at 10:15 a.m. – which accommodates time for morning ski school drop-off for kids, a spa or exercise time, and the opportunity to embrace a day in the mountains among a supportive, social environment.  Women’s Social Tour guests are guaranteed to be guided by a woman from the Ski School Ambassador team.

Achieving an extraordinary first-year reception during winter 2014-2015, the Vail Resorts Women in Skiing initiative invited women of all ages to enjoy skiing and riding in new programs which were specifically-tailored to satisfy the preferences of women participants.  Research and focus groups helped Vail Resorts to better understand that women guests are in search of program attributes such as women coaches, participating with other women of similar ability level, more convenient program times, and equipment guidance from women professionals.  Thanks to feedback from participants during its inaugural winter, the Women’s Ultimate 4 program will further evolve for during the 2015-2016 season throughout all Vail Resorts mountains.

EpicMix Guide is the fifth generation of the groundbreaking and award-winning EpicMix application, following the introductions of EpicMix Photo, EpicMix Racing and EpicMix Academy. EpicMix Guide will re-imagine how skiers and snowboarders maximize their time on the mountain by using guest input to generate a customized, step-by-step navigational guide to experience Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone in Colorado; Park City in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood in the Lake Tahoe region of California and Nevada; and new this winter, Perisher in Australia. Guests will have the ability to log into any one of the various EpicMix channels (app, mobile web, desktop) and answer a variety of questions including: desired resort, starting location at the resort, terrain difficulty desired, and length of time available.
