MAY 2014
May 24-26             Blues, Brews & BBQ
As the unofficial launch of summertime in the mountains, top barbecue chefs from around the state join local chefs in serving up mouth-watering BBQ complemented by thirst-quenching microbrews at one of the largest Colorado Microbrewery beer tastings at the 11th Annual Beaver Creek Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival.  Musical highlights for the weekend include Mia Borders and recent Grammy Award Winner, Charlie Musselwhite. On Saturday, the Professional BBQ panel judged competition and People‘s Choice Voting with 10,000 in prizes at stake will take place alongside the famous Microbrew Festival. Taste your way around the plaza while listening to a full lineup of free blues music each day. Amateur BBQ chefs get their chance to compete on Sunday at the Big Green Egg Backyard BBQ Competition. The Cut and Slice Golf Event tees off on Monday May 26. Culinary demonstrations and kids’ activities are an exciting part of the weekend.

June 13-21            BMW National Car Club Show
Each year the BMW Car Club of America throws a party – a world famous party known as Oktoberfest and sometimes simply O'fest. This movable celebration of everything BMW occurs at exciting locations throughout the country and is the ultimate motorsport family reunion. This year we are fortunate enough to host the event at the beautiful Beaver Creek Resort.  The event will include driving adventures, golf, fine dining and plenty of opportunity to spend time with fellow BMW Owners.  For more info and to register visit, ofest.bmwcca.org
 
June 14-28             Suzuki Music Camp
Beaver Creek transforms into a magical musical village with the Colorado Suzuki
Music Camp which provides music students with the opportunity to supplement learning in this majestic mountain environment. Students and their families descend upon Beaver Creek each summer and fill the village with amazing sounds. For more information visit www.coloradosuzuki.org.

June 22                   Summer Solstice Trail Run
Celebrate the longest day of the year by participating in the Summer Solstice Trail Run, a 5K or 10K trail run, and let the little ones enjoy the kids K.  Post-race entrants will enjoy live music, barbecue and drinks outside at Creekside Park in Beaver Creek.

June 20-21, 27-28  Culinary Demonstration Series
Chefs from local restaurants provide complimentary demonstrations at the Culinary Demonstration Tent in Beaver Creek Plaza Friday and Saturday afternoons at 5 p.m. from June 21 through August 31.  Multiple demonstrations will take place each day on festival weekends. 
 
June 26                   Beaver Creek Rodeo Series at Traer Creek
                               Presented by the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa

Dust off your cowboy boots and tack on some spurs as the Beaver Creek Rodeo returns for its 13th season Thursday nights through August 14. Located in Avon behind Chapel Square, free shuttle service is offered from the Covered Bridge in Beaver Creek Village, as well as the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa. Gates open at 5 p.m.

July 4                      Independence Day Celebration
Celebrate our nation under the blue skies of Beaver Creek this summer on Friday, July 4. Spend the day strolling and exploring unique shops and art galleries, hiking through the aspen glades or enjoying a gourmet lunch on a picturesque patio all within Beaver Creek. After lunch, enjoy free outdoor family activities including multiple slides and bounce houses from noon to 5 p.m. at Stars, Stripes and Slides. That evening you won’t want to miss the Beaver Creek Independence Day celebration for all ages with food, drinks and a free concert followed by fireworks.

July 5, 12, 19, 26  Bravo Music On the Move
Bravo’s Music on the Move will feature ensembles designed to stroll from location to location throughout Beaver Creek. They may begin near the covered bridge for a 15-20 minute performance, followed by a short stroll to the skating rink or the chairlift for a second 15-20 minute performance, finishing near St. James Place for a final 15-20 minute set.

July 8, 15, 22, 29  Movies Under the Stars
Bring the whole family out for a great selection of family movies under the stars at the base of Beaver Creek on the Back Lawn near the Buckaroo Gondola. All movies are complimentary and begin at dusk, approximately 8:30 p.m. Visit www.beavercreek.com for movies details.

July 9, 16, 23, 30  Beaver Creek Music Experience
Enjoy the sounds of summer in the Rockies with weekly concerts hosted at various indoor and outdoor venues around Beaver Creek throughout July and August. Concerts will feature various artists and genres and are fun for the whole family from 6 – 7:15 p.m. Live music is free for all guests.
 
July 12, 13             Triple Bypass Ride
Celebrating the 26th Anniversary of the Triple Bypass Bicycle Ride, the Triple offers two days of enjoying the beautiful scenery Rocky Mountains on your bike. On Saturday, July 12, 2014, the Triple Bypass ride heads west from Evergreen and concludes in Avon over three mountain passes.  Ride on Sunday from Avon to Evergreen, or try the new Team Relay.
 
July 19-20              Beaver Creek XTERRA & XTERRA Trail Run
Beaver Creek XTERRA’s off road triathlon includes a mile swim in Nottingham Lake in Avon, a mountain bike ride up and across Beaver Creek Mountain, gaining 2,000 vertical feet in the first five miles, plus a challenging run that climbs 1,300 vertical feet. The XTERRA competitive events are open to all ability levels with individual and team categories. Cheer on your favorite elite athletes or join them. July 26                    Colorado Eagle River Ride                             
Cycling enthusiasts enjoy one of the most beautiful and best supported non-competitive rides in Colorado.  Highlighted by a local Century route which takes riders from the base of Beaver Creek on a scenic journey north, and includes a stretch on the dirt along Colorado River Road. It showcases Colorado summer at its peak and riders of all ages are welcome. For those electing shorter distances, choose from 100 km or a 42 mile bike ride along the Eagle River. Locals will tell you to look for the ice cream truck at the Dotsero aid station; it’s a must-indulge treat along the way. No matter the distance, camaraderie and great fun are guaranteed along this fully supported ride, which ends with a party in Beaver Creek.
 

AUGUST 2014

August 2, 3            Beaver Creek Art Festival
More than 150 artists converge on Beaver Creek Village for one weekend each August. An array of artwork will be on display including watercolors, oil and acrylic paintings, woodworking, glass, sculptures, furniture, mosaics, ceramics, and jewelry. Take advantage of the unique opportunity to meet each exhibiting artist in person and purchase a piece of art.
 
August 5, 12          Movies Under the Stars

August 8-10           Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival
Celebrate the pleasures of the palate at our 8th annual Beaver Creek Wine and Spirits Festival on August 8, 9 and 10, 2014. Combining Beaver Creek’s very own culinary talent, exclusive wines and outdoor venues, the Beaver Creek Wine & Spirits Festival is the perfect blend of summertime in the mountains. From wine and cocktail seminars to cooking classes the event features culinary delights and unique libations for a variety of palates. The popular Walk and Wine event returns again this year with a guided hike with experts from the Beaver Creek Hiking Center followed by a unique farm-to-table culinary experience. The much anticipated Walk-around Grand Tasting finale, featuring the best of all we have to offer-you won’t want to miss a drop of this festival.
 
August 8,9             Ragnar Relay
This nearly 200 mile running relay takes you and 11 pals, day and night, through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.  This running event will start in Aspen and leap frog to Vail and finish up in Breckenridge, Colorado. 

August 10              Beaver Creek Half Marathon
As part of the Endurance Race Series, test your lungs and legs at Beaver Creek’s half marathon where participants will wind their way throughout the resort and mountain. With 80 percent of the course on single track and 20 percent on dirt road, this race will prove to be one of the more difficult stops on the circuit. August 17              TransRockies Run
Beaver Creek Resort plays host to competitors of the rugged Gore-Tex TransRockies Run, a six-day, 115 mile stage trail run through the Colorado Rockies that ends in Beaver Creek. The race is fully supported, including food, accommodations and on-course support for participants. Based upon the wildly successful GORE-TEX TransAlpine-Run in Europe, the TransRockies Run encompasses a multi-day, point-to-point format. The course traverses the heart of both the White River and San Isabel National Forests, and includes a mix of single track and forest road with nearly 25,000 feet of elevation gain, reaching altitudes of 12,000 feet. August 27              Beaver Creek Blast Bike Race
Beaver Creek Mountain is host to the final race in the seven event Vail Rec District Mountain Bike Race Series.  On August 27 a few hundred riders will tackle the longest course in the series before celebrating a great season of cycling at the post race party.  Registration is available at vailrec.com.
 
August 30-31        Beaver Creek Oktoberfest
Beaver Creek's 15th annual Oktoberfest returns August 30 and 31. Enjoy complimentary live entertainment in Beaver Creek Plaza all weekend and be sure to take advantage of great lodging packages for the event.  It’s the perfect time to be outdoors and hike, bike, play a round of golf and celebrate Oktoberfest in Beaver Creek.
 
August 31              Oktoberfest Shuffle
Before indulging in the beer and brats for Oktoberfest, the Oktoberfest Shuffle provides the perfect way to get your heart pumping with walk, hike, or run over a 5 km or 10 km scenic trail on Beaver Creek Mountain.


SEPTEMBER 2014
 
September 6         Battle Mountain Cross Country Invitational and Eric Spry Memorial 5k
Battle Mountain High School hosts their fall Cross Country race at Beaver Creek.  Schools from across Colorado will come to Beaver Creek to run on our beautiful trails under the gold leaves of the aspen trees.  As part of the race, we will host the Eric Spry Memorial 5 k citizens’ race in memory of former Battle Mountain High School runner who passed away in 2011 at the age of 19. 
 
September 12-14  Beaver Creek German Auto Festival
German car enthusiasts will experience a full weekend of German car shows, test-drives, scenic drives, culinary experiences and rallies in Beaver Creek for the German Auto Festival weekend September 12-14, 2014. German automobile brands will be showcased in Beaver Creek Village to celebrate the engineering, design, quality, history and exclusivity of the German automobile. Visitors to Beaver Creek, German car club members and major German car brands will come together for three days to enjoy the resort’s beautiful fall foliage and legendary attention to detail while experiencing the renowned German automobiles and lifestyle. September 19-20   Rendezvous Music Festival
Rendezvous Music Festival at Beaver Creek is a unique and intimate two-day fall music experience on September 19 and 20. The event brings award winning musicians to the village with outdoor stages, VIP events and intimate house concerts. September 21       Hike, Wine and Dine     
Come to Beaver Creek for the 6th Annual Hike, Wine and Dine benefiting Jack’s Place. The event starts with coffee, mimosas, and breakfast treats while you register and gear up for hike. Then you will set off for a scenic 4 mile mild hike through the picturesque trails of Beaver Creek at the peak of aspen season. Along the way enjoy a number of gourmet tastings from some of the best chefs in Beaver Creek and the Vail Valley. The event wraps up back on the Beaver Creek back lawn for more gourmet treats, wine tasting and relaxation.
 
Sept 26 – Oct 5    Vail/Beaver Creek Restaurant Week             
This fall will kick off the second annual 2014 Vail Beaver Creek Restaurant Week. With participating restaurants spanning across two neighboring World Class Mountain Resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek, this culinary celebration takes dining to new heights.  The ten day event will feature a wide variety of prix fixe menus and specials all set at $20.14.
