... for pumpkins, ice scrapers, playing hooky and Halloween powder
It's almost Halloween which for most people around the country means carving Jack-O-Lanterns not carving fresh, sweet powder turns on the ski slopes. But, here in Colorado, it's a powder day. Arapahoe Basin, just up the road from Keystone, received 5 inches of the new, fresh, white stuff and I'm loving it. Sure. I'm not one of the lucky folks up on the hill today, but I'm still celebrating pre-Halloween with Christmas-morning-like enthusiasm... as I woke up at 4:45 a.m. to check the weather reports and snow totals, logged on to twitter (@vailresortsnews or @snowdotcom).
Speaking of which, the winter storm warning is still in effect today and tonight. So stay tuned for updated snow totals. Right now (as of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28), it's looking like we have 3-4 inches at Beaver Creek and Vail and about the same in Summit County.
If you're like me, you'll be checking our web cams now through mid-April.
